WASHINGTON, DC – The DC Grays lost the Sunday matinee game of a three-game homestand 5-0 to the Loudoun Riverdogs.  This marked the first time this season that the Grays were shutout.  The team’s second straight loss brings the Grays’ record to 11-17 on the season.

The only two hits of the entire game for the Grays were from SS Jacob Maekawa (San Diego State) and LF Lamar Briggs (Jackson State).  Their singles came in the first and third innings, respectively.

The Grays pitching was solid if unspectacular.  RHP Isaiah Kearns (West Virginia) went five innings, allowing three earned runs and recording three strikeouts.  LHP David Moore (Fairleigh Dickinson) came in to pitch in the sixth and allowed two earned runs over four innings while recording one strikeout.

Most of the Grays have the day off tomorrow for the CRCBL All-Star Game (all except Briggs and Harrison Freed, who will play for the Ripken League South team), and will travel to take on the SS-Takoma T-Bolts on Tuesday at 6:30p.m.  They will finish their game that was suspended due to rain and play in their regularly scheduled game immediately following.
