The action started after centerfielder TJ Addonizio (Richmond) reached on a fielder's choice. Rivera notched his second single of the game and first baseman Ryan Grace (Lafayette) walked to load the bases. Caucci and catcher Jack McMullan (Liberty) then hit consecutive singles to drive in two runs each and give DC the 7-6 lead.
Right-hander Sam Moseman (NYU) – who had entered and retired the side easily in the eighth inning – worked around two walks in the ninth before retiring the Braves to notch his first save of the young season.
The Grays sit alone in first place in the South Division of the Ripken League on the young season. DC will travel to Alexandria on Friday to take on the Aces at Frank Mann Field at 6:30pm.
