Meet the Grays All Stars
Byline: By Matt Rosenthal
Five players from the DC Grays were selected to play for the South Division team in the 2025 Cal Ripken League All Star Game.
Here are the five:
Infielder Ryan Soong (Washington University)
The stolen base demon of the DC Grays. In 21 games this season, Soong has 21 hits, six RBIs, a batting average of .339 and an on-base percentage of .456. Additionally he has 20 walks to just 15 strikeouts. The crown jewel of Soong's game is his stolen base abilities. He has nabbed 26 bases and has only been caught three times.
Outfielder Andy Rivera (Holy Family)
Andy has been a consistent presence in the outfield for the Grays in 2025. In his 22 games, Rivera has netted 21 hits, eight RBIs, 13 stolen bases to just two caught steals and an on-base percentage of .375. Rivera's defense in the outfield keeps runners weary of tagging up when a fly ball lands in his hands.
Pitcher Ty Morris (Marist)
The right-hander, playing his second summer with the Grays, has thrown an outstanding season thus far. In six games, five starts, Morris has pitched to the tune of a 3.00 ERA, 16 strikeouts and a 1.222 WHIP. A fantastic arm that always gets the Grays excited when he is on the mound.
Pitcher Kimani Davis (Xavier (LA))
Davis has thrown a stellar season thus far. In five starts, the lefty has a 3.76 ERA and 17 strikeouts to 13 walks. Davis's fastball-sinker-slider-curveball-changeup mix gives DC an efficient southpaw who has rightfully earned an all star appearance.
First Baseman/Pitcher Ethan Nagy (Lock Haven)
Simply put, the Grays' two-way star has been dominant. In 15 games batting, Nagy has seven RBIs, 10 walks to just six strikeouts and an on-base percentage of .396, with a fantastic glove at first base. These figures alone would have earned him an all star nomination. But Nagy's pitching figures jump off of the page. In his three starts, his ERA sits at 0.66, allowing only one run this season. Nagy's power pitching has led to a team-best 19 strikeouts, to just six walks.
