Michael Barbera
Founder, President & Chairman Mike is a senior partner at the DC lobbying firm ACG Advocacy, and he founded DC Grays Baseball in 2012. He was captain of the baseball team at Williams College, is a longtime youth baseball coach, and is member of the advisory board of the College Baseball Foundation and the College Baseball Hall of Fame. He serves as the Grays' representative on the Ripken League Board of Directors.

Antonio Scott
Board Member Antonio served as General Manager of the Grays from 2012 to 2019, before moving over to help run DC Grays RBI and coaching the 15U travel baseball team. In January of 2005, Antonio was unanimously voted as the very first Executive Director of S.M.A.R.T. (then named DCBASEBALL.ORG). He brought an innovative initiative and vision to the organization which lead to the creation of the new S.M.A.R.T. curriculum and co-founding the DC Grays Collegiate Baseball Club of the former Clark Griffith Collegiate Baseball League. He played baseball for Howard University.

Brad Burris
Board Member Brad is the Director of Youth Baseball for DC Grays RBI, and the coach of our 18U travel baseball team. Brad is deeply involved in the Washington sports community. He has worked for the DC Sports and Entertainment Commission, Washington Baseball Club LLC, NFL Players Association/Players, Inc., and the Washington Mystics. He was a co-founder of the DC Grays of the Clark Griffith Collegiate league. Like his friend Antonio Scott, Brad also played baseball for Howard University.

Bob Duff
Board Member Bob is co-founder of FedComp, a data processor and accounting systems provider. He is the founder of the Diamond Dream Foundation and owner of the Ponce DeLeon Baseball League, an adult men’s baseball league serving the Washington, DC and Baltimore regions. He was the owner of the Fairfax Nationals in the old Clark Griffith League.

Christopher Spera
General Manager Chris is the City Attorney for the City of Leesburg, Virginia. He was a non-scholarship member of the basketball team at the University of Virginia as an undergraduate and also graduated from the UVA School of Law. A longtime youth baseball and basketball coach, Chris is now an assistant baseball coach for Hayfield HS in Alexandria. As a parent of a player on the inaugural 2012 DC Grays team, he volunteered as the “Voice of the Grays” during their first season. Once hooked, he joined the Board of Directors in 2013 and became General Manager in 2020.

Greg Tosi
Board Member Greg Tosi has traveled the country practicing law and following baseball. Raised in Philadelphia and a long time Phillies fan, Greg has lived in Michigan, Texas, California, and Washington, D.C. To understand Greg’s love of baseball, you only need to understand that his most prized possession is a 40oz. bat used by his all-time favorite player: Richie (aka, “Dick,” “Crash”) Allen.

Barry Direnfeld
Board Member Barry Direnfeld is a retired Partner of the Washington, DC office of Bingham McCutchen LLP, and leads the fundraising efforts for DC Grays Baseball. Barry was a two time Most Valuable Player on the Kenyon College baseball team and was a co-founder of the Arlington Hillcats, a high school showcase baseball team. (Bats Right, Throws Right. Still can’t hit the curve or a fast ball up on his hands.)

Scott Burr
Board Member Scott is the owner of Tech Painting Company in Alexandria, and a graduate of Leadership Washington. He runs the Grays host family program and helps run the Grays college team. Scott has sat on the advisory board for the Washington Business Journal, The Alexandria Chamber of Commerce and CHAMPS. Scott played college baseball at Drew University and has coached youth baseball for many years. He is cofounder of DCBaseball.org.

Thom Loverro
Board Member Thom Loverro has been a professional journalist since 1977, working for a number of newspapers, including eight years as a news editor and reporter for The Baltimore Sun, where he covered government, politics and crime. He moved into sports reporting when he joined The Washington Times where he remains a spots columnist. Thom can currently be heard on the Kevin Sheehan Show podcast with his longtime radio partner Kevin Sheehan. Each year Thom hosts the "Cigars and Curveballs" fundraiser for DC Grays Baseball at Shelly's Backroom in DC.

Thurgood Marshall Jr.
Board Member Thurgood Marshall Jr is a retired partner at Morgan Lewis & Bockius. His clients have included the Major League Baseball Players Association and he served for over ten years on the U.S. Olympic Committee’s Ethics Committee. His memorabilia collection includes a well-used bat that he acquired at the final Washington Senators bat day.

Ken Robbett
Board Member Ken Robbett is Managing Partner of the law firm of Robbett & Robbett, LLP in Washington, D.C. He is one of three original members of the Board of Governors of the Northern Virginia Travel Baseball League (NVTBL), a developmental youth travel baseball program that has grown from six teams in Fall 2000 to over 375 teams today, with teams hailing from Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C. Ken’s youngest son played for the DC Grays in their first two seasons in the Cal Ripken Collegiate League, and his oldest son was a member of the DC Grays of the Clark Griffith Collegiate Baseball League. Ken continued the family tradition when he joined the Grays’ Board in 2014.

Mark Pelesh
Board Member Mark is the retired Executive Vice President at Strada Education Network, a nonprofit organization focused on promoting improved college completion. He is also an attorney who practiced with several law firms in Washington and developed a specialty in education law and regulation. Mark is one of the top fundraisers for DC Grays Baseball. A light-hitting shortstop, but good with the glove, he saw his first ball game at Griffith Stadium in 1961, and is committed to the return, spread, and success of baseball in the community.

Bill Hansen
Board Member William D. Hansen has lived in the DC metropolitan area for almost 60 years. Bill loved playing baseball as a youth and through high school in Arlington. He coached his six children on various sports teams for 25 years and is now enjoying supporting his grandchildren playing ball. Bill serves on the board of directors for the Jackie Robinson Foundation and Youth For Tomorrow (founded by Joe Gibbs).Hansen served as the U.S. Deputy Secretary of Education and was the CEO of several education companies. He also serves on the board of directors of several education technology companies and is currently a General Partner for Green Street Impact Partners.
