By: Anna Dunlavey Last night’s game at Montgomery College between the DC Grays and the Rockville Express was a low scoring affair, with the Express winning 3-2. The Grays’ record is now 4-5 for the season. Webb Bobo (Southeast Louisiana University) provided all of the Grays’ offense, scoring two runs on his own. The first was a home run to right field in the second inning that barely stayed fair to put the Grays up 1-0. The second was in the top of the ninth inning, with the Grays down 3-1. Bobo hit a double, but continued running to third. The throw to third base almost beat him there, but the Rockville third baseman missed the catch, allowing Bobo to score. Justin Dreschel (Johns Hopkins) gave up three runs on four hits over the course of 6.1 innings. Ari Kaufman (Lafayette) took the mound in the seventh with two runners on and one out. One of those runners came around to score, but Kaufman kept the Express at bay with a three-up-three-down eighth inning. The Grays return home tomorrow to face the FCA Herndon Braves. The team’s first game against the Braves was cancelled due to inclement weather. Tommy Broyles (Drew) is expected to start.
