By DCGrays.com Press In game 1 of tonight’s double header at home, the Grays(9-13) face division rivals the Bethesda Big Train(14-7) who the Grays have loss to twice so far this season. Starting on the mound for the Grays in game 1 will be Jacob Erikson (San Diego State). Arguably the number 1 starter for the Grays currently sits at a 2-1 record with a low ERA of 1.21. His first two starts resulted in 2 complete game wins. His last outing versus the Baltimore Redbirds back on June 25 resulted in a loss for Erikson, but not after giving another quality start in which he pitched a solid 8.1 inings that night. The Grays eventually loss on a walk-off squeeze bunt 4-3 that night. “He has been the work hoarse for us so far and he leaves everything on the field,” said Grays GM Antonio Scott. In game 2 of tonight’s double header Simon Rosenblum-Larson (Lafayette) will take the mound to start the game. This will be his third start against the Big Train this season and he hopes that the third time can be the charm for him. His last outing on June 24 versus the Herndon Braves did not go so well as the Grays lost 5-0 after being no-hit by a collective effort from the Braves pitching staff that night. “We know the kid has good stuff and gives us a chance to win. Tonight we expect just that from him,” said Grays Manager Reggie Terry.
