GAME RECAP (Grays vs Big Train) 7-1-2016
By: DCGrays.com Press: Josh Shelton With rain shortening the double header to a single, seven inning game, the DC Grays dropped their third straight game on Friday at the Washington Nationals Youth Academy. It was a hard fought 1-0 loss against the Ripken Leaders South leaders, Bethesda Big Train. Starter Jake Erikson (San Diego St.) was almost flawless in a start that was cut short by a weather delay. Erikson pitched four innings and was given the loss despite not giving up an earned run. He didn’t have any offensive support behind him. Grays batters recorded only two hits throughout the game. Erikson is likely to make the start next Friday against Big Train. C Evan Pace (Southeastern Louisiana) and 3B Marques Inman (West Virginia) were the only two Grays batters to get a hit. They were both singles in the same inning and they were both left stranded. The Grays travel to Gaithersburg to take on the Giants Saturday night at 7:00pm, looking to end a three game losing streak.
