GAME RECAP (Grays at Big Train 6-17-16)
By: DCGrays.com Press The DC Grays fell to the Bethesda Big Train 2-1 Friday night as the starting pitchers tamed the bats of both teams. The loss moved the Grays record to 4-6, keeping them two games out of first place. Grays starter Simon Rosenblum-Larson (Harvard) went seven innings, allowed one hit and one earned run, while recording four strikeouts. He was relieved in the top of the eighth by RHP Scott Bean (Slippery Rock) who retired all three batters he faced. The Grays offense struggled against Big Train starter and winning pitcher Logan Gilbert (Stetson). The Grays managed just five hits and left four men on base. They did score one run in the sixth on 1B Marques Inman’s (West Virginia) RBI single, which brought in CF Denz’l Chapman (San Diego St.). That made the score 2-1 and was as close as the Grays would get. The Grays stay on the road tonight, as they travel to Vienna to take on the River Dogs at 7:00pm.
