GAME RECAP (Grays at T-Bolts 6-8-2016)
DCGrays.com Press: By Blane Crouse @bcrouse_6 The Grays traveled to Blair Stadium to face the T Bolts with hopes of getting in the win column after a loss in the season opener. Unfortunately the Grays fell just short, losing 7-5. The game saw some good performances be several Grays. After Matthew Dalke (Southeastern Louisiana) drew the start for the Grays and pitched four innings, he was relieved by Bo Burrup (BYU). Burrup pitched three dominant innings for the Grays, not allowing a hit and striking out seven batters. Even with Burrup’s outstanding pitching the Grays found themselves in a 7-2 hole entering the top of the 9th. In the top of the 9th the Grays quickly loaded the bases as Parker Farley (Alabama-Huntsville), Jawan McAllister (Pittsburgh) and Tanner Sampson (Mount St. Mary’s) all reached base. Marques Inman (West Virginia) then drove in Farley to make the score 7-3. McAllister and Sampson then both scored on wild pitches making it 7-5. Unfortunately the Grays could not complete the rally. Marques Inman went 2-5 with 2 RBIs and a stolen base to lead the Grays. Jawan McAllister went 2-4 and scored two runs. The Grays return home Thursday as they take on the Rockville Express and look to get their first win of the year. The game will be at 7:00pm at The Nationals Youth Baseball Academy.
