GAME RECAP (6-19-2016 Grays at Express)
By: DCGrays.com Press; Josh Shelton @JoshNLISports BOXSCORE DC Grays starting pitcher Jake Erikson (San Diego St.) shined bright on Sunday, throwing a complete game shutout and leading the Grays to a 1-0 victory over Rockville. The road win against the Express extended the Grays win streak to two and brought them to 6-6 on the season. They are now just one game back from the division leading Bethesda Big Train. Erikson pitched his second straight gem, allowing only six hits, striking out five, and recording his second win, all while improving his ERA to a microscopic 0.42. He even managed to pitch the entire game without breaking the 100 pitch mark. The Grays scored the only run of the night on a second-inning RBI ground out by DH Lucas Martinez (Cal. St.-San Bernardino) that scored C Evan Pace (SE Louisiana). DC totaled seven hits, three walks, and only stranded four baserunners. The Grays will look to add to their win column Monday night as they take on the Baltimore Dodgers (8-4) at home at 7pm. On the mound for the Grays will be right-hander Jake Joseph (Old Dominion).
