The Grays took their worst loss of the young season to date, getting thoroughly outplayed by the Youse’s Orioles and losing 10-2 at the Orioles home stadium Bachman Field. Once again the Grays got off to a good start, as leadoff batter Jayson Yano (Stevens Tech) and two hole hitter Eric Ramsey (Wake Forest) both singled to start the game and Yano scored on an error by the pitcher to give the Grays a 1-0 lead. But this would be their high point, as the Orioles jumped on Grays starter Scotty Ward (Florida Tech) for 5 runs in 2+ innings. Righthander Sherman Graves (Savannah State) came on in the third to try to stop the bleeding, but the Orioles continued their offensive assault, scoring four more runs off Graves in his four innings of work to put the game out of reach. Outfielder Brandon Kiser (Grambling State) had the only RBI for the Grays, driving in Greg Olenski (Maryland) with a groundout in the fourth after Olenski’s one out triple. The Grays play next on Sunday, June 16 at 6:00 pm against the Silver Spring/Takoma Thunderbolts at the Thunderbolts home field at Blair Stadium in Silver Spring, Maryland.
