Grays lose to Big Train in scorcherJuly 1, 2012 – The Bethesda Big Train spoiled the DC Grays’ return to Hoy Field after an absence of several days. In record-setting summer heat, the Big Train handed the Grays their second straight loss by a 6-4 score. The loss dropped the Grays to 10-12 in the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League.
The Grays managed just six hits against a pair of hard-throwing Bethesda pitchers. RF John Beaubien (Seton Hall) kept up his hot hitting, going 2-4 to raise his average to .387–good enough for fifth place in the Ripken League batting race. For stats and the boxscore, click here.
