Four Grays named Ripken League all-starsJuly 9, 2012 – The DC Grays are proud to announce that four players have been named to participate in the 2012 all-star game for the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League. OF John Beaubien (Seton Hall), 2B Mike Genovese (Seton Hall), P Joe Donino (Columbia) and P Danny O’Donnell (George Washington) will represent the National team in the game. The 2012 All-Star game will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at 7:30 pm, at Shirley Povich Field, in Bethesda, Maryland.
Beaubien leads the Grays in batting (.379), doubles and home runs. He currently ranks sixth in the Ripken League in batting. Genovese is batting .284 and leads the team with 10 walks. Donino leads the Grays in innings pitched and strikeouts, and is among the league leaders in both categories. O’Donnell leads the team with a 3-0 record. Grays manager Arlan Freeman will serve as a coach on the National team. Corey Haines of the Alexandria Aces will manage the team.
