Grays drop third straight, lose to BravesJune 16, 2012 – A late rally by the DC Grays wasn’t enough to avert a third-straight loss, this time a 5-3 loss to the Herndon Braves at Hoy Field.
The Grays scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth to put a scare into the Braves, but for most of the night the Grays’ bats were quiet. The exception was LF Matt Kianka (Central Arizona), who had three hits. The loss spoiled another good outing by Joel Castillo (Morehead State), who pitched effectively for six-plus innings. The Grays travel to Alexandria tomorrow to play the Aces in a Fathers’ Day afternoon game. The Grays’ record now stands at 3-7.
