Walk-off win for Grays over T-BoltsJune 18, 2012 – The DC Grays snapped their four-game losing skid in thrilling fashion, besting the Silver Spring-Takoma Thunderbolts 12-11 on a dramatic three-run game winning home run by DH Josh Powell (Alcorn State) in the bottom of the 9th at Hoy Field.
Powell’s blast was one of four round-trippers for the Grays, who overcame an 8-0 second-inning deficit. Hot hitting 1B Kris Moules (Morehead State) had three hits including a home run, as did CF Billy Bissell (Gallaudet). SS Zach Lopes (Delaware) also homered for the Grays. Powell’s walk-off shot made a winner of Grays reliever Blake Louscher (Central Michigan), who along with Charlie Baxter (Williams) and Chris Nee (Catholic) gave the Grays effective innings out of the bullpen.
