Late rally falls short versus the Big TrainJune 21, 2012 – The DC Grays rallied late, but ultimately fell short against the homestanding Bethesda Big Train 14-9, ending a two game winning streak and dropping their record to 5-9.
Grays starter Rob Rizzitelli (Pace University) struggled, but wasn’t helped by sloppy Grays defense. The Grays made six errors over the course of the game. Down 13-4 going into the 7th inning the Grays rallied to cut the deficit to 14-9 in the 9th before ultimately falling. Grays DH John Beaubien (Seton Hall) led the team with three hits and two RBIs, followed by 3B Troy Marrow (NC Central) and C Manny Cabreja (Columbia) with two hits and two RBIs apiece. Click here for stats and the boxscore. The Grays look to recover tomorrow, when they travel to Baltimore to face the Redbirds at 6:30pm.
