Light-hitting Grays lose at ViennaJune 25, 2012 – The DC Grays’ three-game winning streak was stopped short by excellent Vienna River Dogs pitching, as the hosts won 4-2 at Warhawk Field.
The Grays line-up barely touched three Vienna pitchers. A long solo home run by DH John Beaubein (Seton Hall) in the second inning was the offensive highlight for the Grays. DC’s other run was scored when 2B Jarrett Jack (Ball State) was hit by a pitch, stole second, and scored on a Vienna error. Click here for stats and the boxscore. The Grays wasted a solid outing by Joe Donino (Columbia), who tossed a complete game in the losing effort. Returning home to Hoy Field after a day off, the Grays will host the Alexandria Aces at 5:00pm on Wednesday.
