2012 Season Update – June 8

Late rally sparks Grays past T-Bolts

June 8, 2012 – The DC Grays notched their first win at Hoy Field today in exciting fashion, scoring four runs in the bottom of the 8th inning to defeat the Silver Spring-Takoma Thunderbolts 5-4.

With the T-Bolts holding a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the 8th, the Grays (2-1) tied the score on a titanic three-run home run by RF Josh Powell (Alcorn State), and took the lead on a single by Troy Marrow (NC Central). Mike Genovese (Seton Hall) pitched 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief to pick up the win. The loss dropped the T-Bolts to 2-1.
