MLBPA Players Trust and Cal Ripken Foundation co-host with GraysJune 19, 2012 – The DC Grays of the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League will co-host a free youth baseball clinic with the MLBPA Players Trust and the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation on Thursday, June 21 at 9:30am at Hoy Field on the campus of Gallaudet University.
More than 200 DC kids between the ages of 6-16 are expected to participate in the clinic, where they will be coached by DC Grays players and coaches, and coaches from the Ripken Foundation. They will also meet Washington Nationals players Roger Bernadina, Ian Desmond, Daniel Espinosa, Edwin Jackson and Xavier Nady. The Nationals players will answer questions and sign autographs. They will arrive at approximately 11:30am. The free clinic is part of the DC Grays ongoing community outreach program–a key part of the Grays’ pledge to be “ambassadors for baseball” in Washington, DC. The Grays will host additional clinics at Hoy Field during the summer, and the team also hosts local Little Leagues and youth baseball organizations at its home games. The Grays have already hosted the Capitol Hill Little League and the DC RBI Little League all-stars at home games thus far in 2012.
