New sponsorsJune 21, 2012 – The DC Grays are proud to add two new inaugural 2012 season sponsors. One is a top national sports retailer, the other a community-minded local business. Their generosity will help the Grays make good on their pledge to be “ambassadors of baseball” in Washington, DC.
Dick’s Sporting Goods will provide the Grays with an extremely generous in-kind donation of gift cards and gift certificates in addition to coupons that can be raffled off and used as promotional give-away items for Grays fans. Dick’s is an industry leader in the sporting goods industry, with over 450 stores nationwide–including locally in Virginia in Bailey’s Crossroads, Fairfax, and Dulles, and in Maryland in Columbia, and Gaithersburg. Mac’s Tire Service is another new Grays sponsor. Mac’s is a local business located on Florida Avenue NE–just a few short blocks from Hoy Field. A family-owned local business for over 25 years, Mac’s Tire Service specializes in the sale and installation of a full range of passenger car, performance, and truck/SUV tires and custom wheels. Dick’s Sporting Goods and Mac’s Tire Service join many other DC Grays inaugural 2012 season sponsors–including Under Armour, Congressional Federal Credit Union, Tech Painting, Monument Policy Group, the National Association of Homebuilders, CBS Corporation, Thomas Graphics, the Diamond Dream Foundation and the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation. “We are extremely grateful to all of our 2012 inaugural season sponsors,” said Grays team president Michael Barbera. “As a volunteer-run non-profit organization, we rely on sponsors to help us fund our operations–in particular our community outreach efforts. Adding two new sponsors–one national and one local–will help us make the great game of baseball available and accessible to kids throughout the DC community.”
